Our Policy

1. Hours of Operation:
Our daycare operates from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Please ensure timely drop-off and pick-up of your child.

2. Enrollment and Fees:
A completed daycare agreement form is required before the child can attend. All necessary fees must be paid according to the daycare’s payment schedule.

3. Attendance:
Parents/guardians must notify the daycare if their child will be absent.

4. Illness Policy:
Children with contagious illnesses (e.g., fever, vomiting, diarrhea) must stay home. Children should only return to daycare once they have been symptom-free for 24 hours.

5. Nutrition and Meals:
At Little Chicks Daycare, we prioritise the health and well-being of the children in our care by providing balanced and nutritious meals. Our meal plan includes lunch, and snacks, carefully designed to meet the nutritional needs of growing children.
However, parents/guardians are required to provide the following items based on individual needs:
    ○ Baby Formula: For infants, parents/guardians must supply baby formula, clearly labelled with the child’s name and date.
   ○ Baby Food: If your child is still consuming baby food, parents/guardians must provide it, with all containers labelled with your child’s name and feeding instructions.
   ○ Special Dietary Requirements: For children with allergies, intolerances, or other dietary needs (e.g., religious or cultural reasons), parents/guardians must provide appropriate specialty food items. Please inform daycare staff about any dietary restrictions, and ensure all items are labelled.

6. Essential Items Provided by Parents/Guardians
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing the following essential items for their child:
    ● Diapers
    ● Wipes
    ● Diaper cream
    ● Extra change of clothing
    ● Bottles or sippy cups
    ● Any comfort items (e.g., blankets, pacifiers, etc.)
All items must be clearly labelled with the child’s name. Parents are responsible for keeping supplies stocked and updated as needed.

7. Behaviour Management:
Positive reinforcement will be used to encourage good behaviour. Disruptive behaviour will be addressed using appropriate and age-appropriate strategies. Parents/guardians will be informed of any persistent behavioural concerns.

8. Emergency Procedures:
Emergency contact information must be updated regularly. Fire and evacuation drills will be conducted on a regular basis to ensure safety in case of emergencies.

9. Health and Safety:
All children must be up to date on vaccinations. Parents/guardians will be notified immediately in the event of any accidents or injuries, and appropriate care will be provided.

10. Confidentiality:
All personal information related to the children and their families will be kept confidential. Children’s records will be securely maintained and accessed only by authorised personnel.

11. Termination of Services:
The daycare reserves the right to terminate services for non-payment of fees or repeated violations of daycare policies. Either party may terminate this agreement with 14 days written notice.

12. Provider Illness or Emergency Policy:
In the event that the daycare provider is unable to provide care due to illness or an emergency, parents/guardians will be notified as soon as possible. On such days, parents/guardians will not be responsible for any payments for the missed day of care. However, if the child is absent due to illness or any other reason, regular payment policies will still apply, and fees will not be waived.

13. Liability Waiver:
The Parent/Guardian releases the Provider from any liability for accidents or injuries that occur during the provision of daycare services, except in cases of gross negligence.

14. Statutory Holidays and Vacation Policy:
The daycare will be closed on all statutory holidays, and regular payment will still be required for these days. Statutory holidays include, but are not limited to, New Year’s Day, Family Day, Easter Monday, Canada Day, Labor Day, and Christmas Day. A detailed list of holidays will be provided at the beginning of each calendar year.
Additionally, the daycare provider will take two weeks of paid vacation each calendar year. Parents/guardians will be notified well in advance of the vacation dates to allow for alternative childcare arrangements. Payment will still be expected during these vacation periods.

15. Policy Changes:
Policies may be updated or revised as necessary. Parents/guardians will be given notice of any changes in advance and modifications to this agreement must be made in writing and signed by both parties.
